Mykhaylo Kulynych
Mykhaylo Kulynych is a Philadelphia architect with over 40 years in the profession. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State and his Master of Architecture from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Mr. Kulynych worked at several Center City architectural firms before joining H2L2 Architects/Planners in 1984. He became a Principal in 1990. In 2012 H2L2 joined NELSON, in which he was a Principal of H2L2, a Nelson Company. In 2014 Mr. Kulynych incorporated as MYKUL Architecture PC.
During his years of practice at H2L2 Mr. Kulynych worked for many educational, institutional, and corporate clients, and on high-profile regional and national projects such as the Pennsylvania State Capital historic renovations in Harrisburg, PA, and the Hoover Dam Bypass at the Lake Mead Recreation Area, NV. He joint-ventured with Carlos Jimenez Studio as the Architect of Record for Temple University’s Tyler School of Art building and is the Designer and Architect of Record for Temple’s Architecture Building.
A passionate advocate for design excellence and relationship building, Mr. Kulynych currently is the Director of Professional Outreach for Temple University’s Architecture Department and focuses on client development and networking.
He also teaches a communications course geared toward architecture students with emphasis on business etiquette, career preparation, and interpersonal skills development.
John F. McDonald III
John has over 22 years of experience in the field of architecture and project management. His experience covers a full range of architectural services, including planning, project management, design, construction documents, and construction administration for commercial and residential projects. Prior to founding Knabb Seace McDonald, he traveled extensively throughout the United States as a senior project manager for Aramark Design Development Higher Education Studio, overseeing the design and implementation of numerous campus food courts and retail stores.
John is currently the Vice President of the Pennsylvania Council of the Society of American Registered Architects. He started the Student Grant Award for the Council, which provides a Pennsylvania architecture student a monetary award for excellence. He is currently the Chairman of the committee and is very active in the fundraising efforts.
John is also the Chairman of the Saint Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia scholarship committee: a non-profit cultural society providing scholarships to U.S. and Scottish students for an immersive year long study abroad program. All while being a leader of his son’s Cub Scout pack.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from Temple University, graduating in the top ten of his class. In his life before architecture, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Pennsylvania State University. He was an insurance liability representative for companies such as Aetna and Travelers, giving him a unique perspective on the critical business nature of the architectural profession.
Heather Fleming, NDICQ
Heather has nearly 25 years of experience as an Interior Designer & Project Manager and joined RHJ Associates in 2020. She received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science. She is a Senior Project Manager responsible for a team of designers providing planning, interior design, documentation, administration, and file maintenance for millions of square feet for Real Estate Developers with portfolios in the Center City Philadelphia and the surrounding suburban markets. Heather understands and strives for speed and accuracy in the fast-paced Real Estate Market.
