KOHELET YESHIVA LAB SCHOOL
Jury Comments: A very nice response to site and surroundings. The design has a nice scale, proportions, and sense of community; respect paid to the vernacular. The jury appreciates the attention to detail. Terrific plan, very forward-thinking with the flexibility of the classrooms. The jury enjoys how the religious studies area is buried in the plan with the beautiful glass bump-out. Modern touches (i.e. lintels) blend in very nicely.
330 SHIELDS LANE
Jury Comments: The jury appreciates the use of materials and great attention to detail both inside and out. The exterior materials really tried to match the vernacular and maintained historic precedent. The addition is as large as the existing house but does not impose. The "Escheresque" floor leading to an "altar" tub creates an experience. It’s Modern, but begs the question, “is it?”
TOWERFIELD
Jury Comments: Careful attention makes this feel more like a large house than a mansion. It is very nicely scaled with nice proportions. A tasteful pool house with a beautiful garden and pool set into the landscape. The jury appreciates the homage paid to the farmer. The project features a nice blend of monochromatic with traditional details.
ROSE RENT LOFTS
Jury comments: This project tells a fantastic story and is a beautiful renovation. A modern renovation with the past peeking through. The jury appreciated the client removing square footage to create flow and parking. The restoration went above and beyond with a lot of appeal throughout. The project demonstrates experience blending the industrial, traditional & historical.
NEW VETERANS MEMORIAL
Jury comments: The project is very lively and playful; it screams “elementary school.” The interiors are vibrant and colorful, very age-appropriate. The jury appreciates the sophisticated entry.
